After doing my own research into what is or isn't a game, I have come to a conclusion that I think lands me in the abstractionist view. I would say that my own definition of a game is a designed virtual experience that is interactive. The reason I think the definition is more abstract is because of the limitless possibilities that are offered through this medium. One term that I found online that I think describes this well is "interactive fiction".
The term comes from Britannica and also fits into the definition that I had come up with. To me, the point of a video game really depends on what the creator/creators of it want you to experience. What changes that from just being a video to being a video game is the interactivity. I feel this interactivity helps immerse the player into this visual medium more than a video or book will.
